Head Room Parents & Room Parents

All questions regarding room parents can be answered by our Room Parent Coordinator Liz Lalonde.

A Head Room Parent is needed for every classroom. The teachers appreciate this role very much. It is also a great way to be involved in your child’s education and meet other parents.

The Head Room Parent is the parent coordinator for the classroom. The responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining open communication with the teacher throughout the school year, at least once a month. This includes scheduling a meeting with the classroom teacher at the beginning of the school year to find out how parents can assist in the classroom.
  2. Communicating with other Head Room Parents within the grade to maintain consistency throughout the grade.
  3. Maintaining communication with all the parents concerning upcoming events and what will be needed at the Holiday parties.
  4. Make sure the work that the teachers have put in the workroom gets completed.
  5. Work with the Room Parent Coordinator to plan approved class parties and special grade level events.

If you are interested in being a Head Room Parent for your child’s classroom, please email roomparents@nhpfo.org with your full name, your child’s full name, child’s homeroom teacher and your email address.

Sign-ups for Head Room Parent will not be on Sign-up Genius this year.

There is also no sign up for Room Parents. In our efforts to streamline our volunteering process, every parent in each class will be considered a "room parent". All communication will come via the teacher from the Head Room Parent. Our goal in this change is to create a cohesive parent participation.
